Hospitality for BOA Indianapolis

Dear Band Family,

It is time once again to start thinking about food donations for our final band competition in Indianapolis on October 25th and 26th.

This is a huge weekend and we will be providing many meals for the kids. The good news is we have quite a bit of snacks and breakfast items already stored from past competitions. Even so, we do have quite a few things we need in order to get the kids fed throughout the weekend.

Here is a quick overview of what we plan to provide for meals Friday and Saturday.

Friday I will meet the bus in Indy with hot biscuit sandwiches from McDonald’s and other continental items.

For lunch on Friday we plan to take the kids out. We are still working on a location for this and I will keep you posted.

Friday for dinner the kids will need to bring cash and they will be on their own in the stadium while they watch the rest of the prelims.

On Saturday morning we are going to do a pancake breakfast for the kids. I know some people are nervous about circuits, but I’m going to forge ahead with this endeavor as it is the only cooked meal I will get to provide the kids. And since we do not need to be out the door at the crack of dawn I think it will be a really fun treat for the kids. If anyone has griddles we can cook pancakes on and would let us borrow them that would be great. I have one, but I think four or five would be optimal.

For lunch on Saturday we are going to have Goodfellas pizza. We have rented a conference room at the Holiday Inn across the street from Lucas Oil Stadium and the kids will be able to walk over and have lunch and return to the stadium if time permits.

Dinner on Saturday will once again be ChickfilA. If we make finals we will have the kids eat in the parking lot near the trailer before they change. If we do not make finals we will have bags made up with a sandwich, fruit/veggie, chips, and a dessert and the kids will eat on the bus as we head home. We will plan to stop for a bathroom break shortly after we leave.

Please follow the link below to sign up for item donations. Since the band is leaving early on Friday the cart will be loaded into the trucks late on Thursday. With this in mind, I would like to have all donations by end of practice on Wednesday. I am going to try to get the carts loaded and ready for the truck while the kids are doing their middle school tour on Thursday afternoon.
