Dear Band Families,
On the evening of Saturday, August 24, we will install several thousand seatbacks at UK’s Kroger Field. This fundraiser (installation and removal) raises upwards of $5,000 for the Henry Clay bands. It’s a big job, but with everyone involved and working hard, you’ll be surprised at how quickly it gets done. We usually also follow up on the next Wednesday to perform some quality control, and to install any late additions, so we may need 30-50 students (and parent help) Wednesday night, August 28.
This year, we are trying something new, and doing away with shifts, so we will all work together the whole time until all seats are in. All HC Band students (marchers and concert-only) are expected to participate. The only exception to this is for the students who will work Bingo that Saturday night. Anyone with a conflict should bring that to the directors’ attention as soon as possible.
As with all HC Band activities, parent (and family) support is crucial to our success, so please plan to join us with your student at Kroger Field. We can use all the extra helping hands that we can get.
Please remember the following:
– Wear proper footwear: no sandals or open-toed shoes
– Bring tools if you have them: 9/16” socket (hand or cordless drill-mount) or wrench, labeled so you don’t lose them
– Eat a meal before you arrive; water and snacks will be provided
–Park in the Green Lot and meet at Gate 1 (click link below for diagram)

We will send out info again closer to the day. We will know more about Wednesday the 28th after we receive the sales reports from UK, and see how much we complete Saturday night.
