Spirit Wear:  new site!  https://henry-clay-band-spirit-wear.ecwid.com/  Go order stuff!  We’ll post an update when we when we’ll be ready to distribute the order.  New Parents:  Your new marcher will receive a blue shirt, show shirt, and blue band jacket as part of their new marcher fees.  Guard Parents:  guard members get matching warm-ups instead of the blue band jackets.  Feel free to order one if you want.

Split the Pot:  Reminder!  All money from sold tickets as well as unsold tickets should be returned in the original envelope in the band room box before 4 on Friday.

ICE WORLD show magnets:  Suzonne Bunch will have show magnets to sell during the potluck this Friday.  The cost is $5 or $3 for stickers.  HC Band magnets will be on sale for $7.  Exact change is appreciated!

Blue Shirt Distribution:  The Spirit Wear Team will distribute blue band shirts to all new marching band students on Friday in the band room before the potluck. People who asked for and paid for replacement shirts can pick them up there/then.  Reminder!  Make sure your child wears/brings black shorts, black crew socks, tennis shoes, and their blue band shirt during the Parent Preview Show!!

Hospitality will provide paper products (no cups) and will set up and clean up. Here’s what to bring:

1.  A main dish that is large enough to feed your entire family (a casserole, a couple of pizzas, fried chicken, a couple of orders of chicken fingers….).  All of this will go on a table to share.  Remember serving utensils if you can.

2. A side dish OR a dessert.  These will also go out to share.

3. Drinks for your family only

We will start setting up the food around 5:30. The kids will come in at 6 and get their plates.  Once the kids have been fed, the families will go through and we will eat and do our split the pot raffle.  When the kids are ready to perform, we will all head to the parking lot to watch (don’t forget lawn chairs if you want them).  After the performance, we can head in to clean up. Friday’s Pool Party:  The senior class is hosting a pool party Friday night from 9 to 11:30 to celebrate the end of band camp.  All are welcome!  Senior parent, we’re counting on you for snacks!  Last names beginning with A-I please bring chips, J – S please bring desserts, and T-Z please bring drinks.  We still need one or two chaperones.  Please contact mislayton1@gmail.com if you’d like to chaperone.  And please, please pick your kids up by or before 11:30pm!  We’ll all be beat and ready to go home.

Bell Tower Magnets:  Please email Suzonne Bunch at suzonne@flydogstudio.com if you would like to request one.  Cost will depend on the total number ordered but shouldn’t be too cost-prohibitive.

Marching Band Uniforms:  Mary Kitts will be fitting the freshman in their uniforms on Monday.  She’s requesting the help of a few parents.  For more information email mkitts1967@aol.com

Buttons:  Lisa Grey will take pictures of all marching band members on Monday and Tuesday of next week, except for Color Guard who will have pictures made for buttons after their uniforms arrive.

Juniors and Freshmen on Monday from 12-2:30

Seniors and Sophomores on Tuesday from 12-2:30

Siblings can come together on either day.

New parents:  Some parents like to buy the buttons with the student’s picture on them so as we meet each other we learn which kids go with which adults.  Some parents buy and wear them all 4 years!

Stadium Seatback Fundraiser:  Added to the Calendar! Saturday August 24th will be the day of the stadium seatback installation at UK’s Kroger Field (August 25th will be a weather day). This is one of the larger fundraisers for the Band, so we need all hands on deck.

We realize that marchers have a camp day from 8am to 2pm, but this is really the only weekend that we could coordinate with UK. We will likely begin around 6pm to give marchers a little break, and to allow the temperature to hopefully drop a bit.

Please plan to attend. All students are required, and we will need plenty of parent/sibling/friend help, too. More info to follow, so watch your emails and social media.

Tolly-Ho Spirit Night: Tuesday, September 17th from 4pm to 10pm.  Mention HCMB and we’ll get 20% of all purchases made!
