South Oldham Information Round-Up!

Hello, Band Family. Here’s what I have for this week’s information round-up.

Itinerary: It’s always a good idea to review Mr. Kite’s itinerary throughout the week. https://henryclayband.files.wordpress.com/2018/10/10-6-18-south-oldham-itinerary.pdf

Hospitality: Lisa Gray sent out the Sign-Up link. If you haven’t already signed up for something, please go here to do so. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090e4ca4af2aa4fb6-band10 Please pay attention to Lisa’s drop-off/delivery deadlines and locations.

Pit Crew: Cameron Beard and Jon Livingood still need parent volunteers to help with loading/unloading the props and help getting instruments and props to and from the field on competition days. There are only 13 signed up for Saturday as of now! Please use this link to volunteer. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0d4faaaf2fabf58-hcmb

Chaperones: Amy Sommers will lead our chaperone meeting half an hour before the buses role out. She asks that any men who are available to chaperone the BOA trip next weekend please let her know ASAP. We still need you, guys!!

Spirit Wear: I will distribute Order #3 every day during the end of rehearsals this week. In the event of rain I will be in the band room. If it is dry I will be in my usual spot on the lawn by the band room door. I’ve been informed that Order #4 will be ready around the 15th. Stay Tuned.

Fleeces: Mary Kitts will collect fleeces to be embroidered every day during the end of rehearsals this week. Her location will be the same as mine (see above). Please remember that for marchers (except for Guard and Drum Majors) the unofficial uniform includes the Fleeces, which the kids might need for Saturday night at South Oldham. Or they might not. It looks to be 67 degrees and muggy Saturday night.

Travel: Here is the site information for Saturday’s contest. http://kyband.com/calendar/event/south-oldham-festival-of-bands/ There is a link to Google Maps from this page.

Weather: Right now in Crestwood it looks like it’ll be very warm and humid on Saturday…about 85 degrees with 40% chance of Thunderstorms at some point in the day. This is Kentucky, though, so things could change many, many times between now and then. Per the usual, flexibility is key! Plan ahead for sudden changes in both weather and scheduling.

If I’ve left anything out, let me know!
Thanks,
