Dear Marching Band Family,
I hope all are well and are ready for a big finish to our week with 8th grade band night tomorrow and our camp day this Saturday! I wanted to pass along the itinerary for our first competition next weekend. Please see the attached schedule for the Lafayette Invitational on Saturday, September 15th and observe the details carefully!
I will send out competition day expectations and procedures early next week, but wanted everyone to be able to plan and prepare early for next weekend.
Just a couple notes and reminders:
- Contest days are all day commitments and require all members of the band family to be prepared and observe all times on the schedule carefully.
- Band members must remain with the band all day. Students are allowed to grab lunch during the break after the morning rehearsal, but MUST be ready for the full band meeting at the posted time in the band room.
- All students are responsible for their own unofficial uniform (Show Shirt, Black Shorts, Black Socks, Black Marching Shoes), their own instrument or equipment throughout the day, and the care and maintenance of their official Henry Clay Marching Band Uniform at the contest site.
- Parents, family, extended family, and friends are encouraged to come out to support the band at each contest, but families must understand that all band students stay with the band the entire time while at a contest site.
