Dear HC Band Family,
I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! We enter the major push into the competitive show season and are excited to showcase the students’ hard work!
Please note the schedule ahead and the details:
Wed. 9/5 (today)
MB Rehearsal 3:45-5:30 PM
HC Open House 6-8 PM…Mr. Bayerle and I would love to visit with you in the band room!
MB Sectionals 3:45-6 PM
Home Football Game- 8th Grade Band Night and Homecoming
Call time for all marching band members is 5:00 PM
Attire is Blue Devil Band Shirt, Black Shorts, athletic shoes/socks
5:00 PM Dinner for HS MB members
5:30 PM 8th grade students arrive and eat dinner….HS students welcome and meet our guests!
5:45 PM Pit begins moving equipment to the stadium
6:00 PM HS students warm up outside in front of the band room and 8th grade guests begin moving to the bleachers to watch our pregame show
6:10 PM All MB members move toward the stadium field
6:15 PM HC Marching Band performs a pregame show in the stadium for our guests
6:30 PM Pit moves equipment back to the band room and the rest of the MB joins the 8th grade students in the bleachers for anthem, pep band music rehearsal
7:15 PM HC and 8th grade perform the National Anthem
7:30 PM Homecoming game begins
apx 8:30 PM at halftime 8th grade will be released
All wind players arc up on the field and accompany halftime homecoming ceremony…good luck to all band students on the court!
All HC students will perform until the end of the game apx 10:30PM
Camp Day 1-9 PM
Dinner break will be around 5 PM…students should bring food or make plans for dinner
apx 7:00 PM we will simulate a contest day experience with all marching band members
7:00 PM All HCMB members will change into full uniform
7:30 PM All brass, woodwinds, percussion, guard will do an official warm up in the stadium
8:00 PM Everyone is on field and we will rehearse with all pit crew members getting props and equipment on and off the field
8:30 PM HCMB will perform 2 shows in full uniform
8:50 PM Announcements and all students change out and properly store the uniforms
- Performance Check #1 (student performance of Act 1: Romeo Et Juliette) via audio or video is DUE by the start of camp 1:00 PM this Saturday, Sept. 8th.
- Please remember that any student who missed a rehearsal must make it up. Makeup assignments are in google classroom. All makeup assignments are DUE by Fri. Sept. 14th in order for the students to be eligible to march in the first contest at Lafayette.
- Parents, please remember to continue communicating. Absences are only excused with communication from parents or a doctors note. There have been a handful of instances when a student was absent and neither Mr. Bayerle nor I knew anything about the absence.
Next week is our first contest week as we make final preparations for the Lafayette show on Saturday, Sept. 15th! I will send a detailed itinerary in the near future along with contest day expectations!
