Important Details and the Schedule ahead!

Dear Marching Band Family,

I hope everyone enjoyed the day off yesterday 🙂  We had a tough camp day on Saturday, but made some good progress on new material into Act 2 of our show.  Parents, please help us reinforce great habits and organizational skills by helping our students to be prepared and early to all rehearsals.  While we made progress Saturday, we lost valuable time due to a number of students arriving late for rehearsal consequently delaying our plan for the day.  If we want to have a great experience, this must change. This activity requires 100% commitment from our family in a coordinated effort to achieve maximum results in a production that is much bigger than us as individuals.  It takes directors, staff, students, and parents all working together and being selfless in the process.  I look forward to seeing this group grow and overcome some of our current challenges!

Thank you to our pit crew for the hard work on the props already!  The audience will be stunned when we roll out your creations for show time!

Thurs. 8/30

MB Rehearsal 3:45-7:15 PM. Our 1st PACK THE PARKING LOT!  Parents, please come to see 2 runs of the show around 7:00 PM and cheer on your children!

Calling all Pit Crew:  Cameron Beard would like to meet with any and all interested Pit Crew members this Thursday at 6 PM down by the truck at the edge of the parking lot so we can start figuring out prop assignments and how to get equipment on and off the field!  We would love to have as many parent volunteers as possible!

MB Sectionals 3:45-6:00 PM.  We are not able to use the lot this night due to a big home volleyball match.

Fri. Sept. 9/7

Homecoming Football Game…8th Grade Band Night!  Call time is 5:00 PM in Blue Devil Band Shirt and Black shorts.  We will NOT wear full uniform for this event.

5:00 PM HCMB students eat

5:30 PM 8th Grade students eat

6:00 PM Warm up on field in Stadium

We will do a 6:15 PM pregame show on the field in the stadium for the 8th grade students!

6:30 PM Clear the field for the teams pregame walk through

We will play with the 8th grade students for the first half and release 8th grade at half.  HS students will get a 3rd quarter break and play in the stands until the end of the game.

Sat. 9/8

MB Camp Day 1:00-9:00 PM

We will break for dinner around 5:00 PM

We will run a simulated contest experience during the last couple hours of the camp day by changing into full uniform with hats/plumes, black marching shoes, etc., warm up, practice with Pit Crew getting on and off the field, and will run the show a couple times!  Parents are welcome to fill the stadium home side bleacher seats and watch the Show performances at apx 8:30 PM.
