Band Parent Meeting Reminder, and Parent Representatives

Reminder:  The band parent meeting is tonight at 7pm in the Orchestra room at HCHS.  ALL band parents are encouraged to attend.

Everyone,

There are several big band activities over the course of the school year that require a large effort on the part of our band family, marchers and non-marchers. We divide up the responsibilities by class. Here’s the breakdown:

Senior parents: pool party at the end of band camp Junior parents: end-of-year banquet (in May) Sophomore parents: Pops concert (in May) Freshmen parents: help out where you can so you’re ready when it’s officially your turn

The parent representatives organize the event but other parents will be needed to execute it. (A few junior parents organized the banquet in May but all junior parents were asked to help with set-up, serving, or clean-up.) Once you have this position, you keep it for the 4 years that your child is in band. This is an elected position. According to our by-laws, we can have up to 4 representatives for each class. I’d like to vote in 4 freshmen parents tonight. If you’re interested in the position but can’t be there please let me know.

For sophomore and junior parents, we have room for a couple more of you. I’m sure the ones that are already serving would appreciate the help.
