A few weeks ago you received the email below regarding the Pops concert in May. Each section is required to bring in items for a basket that will be part of the silent auction at the concert. We also asked for any other items that you may be able to solicit for donation. As of today, no students have brought in items. As a member of the committee, I am very concerned, considering items are due not later than May 11. Below are the sections and the basket theme for each.
5.Oboes/Bassons/French horns -home improvement
- 1st hr Percussion-summer fun/picnic basket
- 3rd hr Percussion-fitness basket
Please support this great event and send items to school. We will pick the items up from the band room for the baskets.

HC Band Parents and Students-
A large part of the fundraising at the Picnic with the Pops is the silent auction. The committee has assigned baskets to each instrument family for submission to the silent auction. We have also brainstormed different ideas for the baskets. Each section leader should meet with their section and determine what each person is going to give towards the basket.
All donations are to be dropped off in the band room where the director’s will be expecting them. The donations for the baskets are due no later than May 11, 2018. It is imperative that everyone participate and have donations in by the deadline. The committee will be meeting on Saturday, May 12 to put all baskets together for presentation at the event.
The other way that you can help is by soliciting friends, business owners, etc. for what we refer to as “big ticket” items. These are items that will bring money on their own without being part of a basket. Examples are Red’s Tickets, UK basketball/football tickets, hotel rooms, etc.
