Dear Band family, It’s time to get your concert wear cleaned if you are graduating (or otherwise not returning to the band program next year). The students will not be wearing the tuxedos or dresses any more this year (the Pops Concert attire is “Sunday Best” or “semi-formal attire.” Coats, ties for the gentlemen and dresses for the ladies are appropriate. All professional black attire is also appropriate. If you have questions concerning appropriate attire, please ask the Directors).
***Please turn in concert wear by May 20th*** [If you are returning next year, please disregard this message.]
We have a deal with Bluegrass Cleaners on Squires road (at Richmond Road)–full tux cleaning is $9, and dresses are $3.50. Their sign says Newport Cleaners, but the business name has changed. Please make sure you don’t leave your bow tie or cumberbund in the pockets, they may not notice them and they will get lost!
**Alternately, you may turn in your concert wear uncleaned with payment for the cleaning to HCBB. There will be an extra $5 fee for this convenience, which will be a mini-fundraiser for the band. I will take all of the items to be cleaned together at the end of the school year.
Concert Wear must be turned in to Mr. Kite or Mr. Bayerle, who will sign off on a sheet that it has been turned in. Please DO NOT hang items on the rack in the instrument room without signing off that it has been turned in. If your item has not been cleaned, please do not turn it in without payment ($14 for tuxes, $8.50 for dresses, made to HCBB if a check, in an envelope clearly marked with your name and what it’s for). If your item has been cleaned, keep it in the plastic so I can tell that’s it’s ready to be restocked. Also, please make sure your cleaned or uncleaned items are clearly marked with your name!
