BOA Recap and Butler Traditional Contest Itinerary

Dear Marching Band Family,

Thanks to all for a great weekend!  To recap the events of our Bands of America Dayton Regional Championship performance, the band gutted out the performance in some very tough conditions on Saturday morning eventually finishing in 12th place scoring a 70.15 (which at this point in the BOA season is a distinguished rating).  The band posted the 4th highest individual music score at the contest which was the highest of any KY band and just behind Reeths-Puffer HS, Carmel HS, and Avon HS.  The band struggled with effect and ensemble scores, but the staff received valuable feedback on areas to target and how to improve our process in the coming weeks.  We are in good position for a strong push through the final month of the season, but definitely have our work cut out for us!

This week we prepare for another KMEA show at Butler Traditional HS in Louisville this upcoming Saturday!  Please see the attached itinerary and observe all details carefully.

Special THANKS to all of our wonderful parents who continue to make “the machine” run!  We could not have a quality program without our pit crew (dads and moms :-), chaperones, hospitality crew, uniform workers, truck drivers, etc.  I am grateful for all of the wonderful people in our band family!  It is truly an honor and privilege to work with you!  I am humbled by your hours of volunteer time and effort and the sacrifices you make for your children and others!

Let’s have another great week!

Sincerely,
