Wednesday and Friday shifts for completing seatback installations

Thank you to everyone who worked the Saturday shift at Commonwealth Stadium. Once again, we worked so well and hard that we finished washing and checking all the seatbacks, installed 180 additional seatbacks, and still went home a little early.

We were encouraged to see crews replacing and repairing benches in the south upper sections of the stadium, where we have not been able to work because of construction. We have been told we will have access to most of those sections, if not all, by Wednesday.

We’ve scheduled an extra work shift on Wednesday, September 2, from 6-10 p.m. Please let us know if you are able to be there, either by e-mail (barricklow@juno.com) or by the sign-up sheet posted in the band room. We may not know details (where to park, what gate to enter) until Wednesday during the day, so please pay attention to your e-mail and other band notifications.

The Friday night work shift (6-10 p.m.) is still in place for guard and pit members as well as any parents who are available. We will finish up anything left over from Wednesday and install additional seatbacks sold during the week.

Thank you for your flexibility. The UK folks have been impressed by our efficiency, and they greatly appreciate our commitment under such unpredictable conditions.
