Bill Kite
DIRECTOR OF BANDS AT HENRY CLAY HIGH SCHOOL

William C. Kite, currently in his eighth year at Henry Clay High School in Lexington, KY serves in his fourth year as Director of Bands. His duties include overseeing the Henry Clay Band program consisting of Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, Lab Band, Jazz Ensemble, Pep Band, Percussion Ensembles, and Steel Band.

Prior to his appointment at Henry Clay High School, Mr. Kite spent one year at Beaumont Middle School serving as Associate Director of Bands assisting in the direction of the jazz band, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands while directing the 5th grade band at Rosa Parks Elementary School. Previously, he spent four years at Henry Clay High School and Morton Middle School, serving as Director of Jazz Studies and Associate Director of Bands. Mr. Kite directed the Jazz Ensemble, Lab Band, and Concert Band at Henry Clay High School in addition to assisting in the direction of the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, and Pep Bands. He also aided in the direction of the 6th Grade Advanced Band and the 7th Grade Band at Morton Middle School. In 2002 through 2004, Mr. Kite spent two years at Meade County High School in Brandenburg, Kentucky, where he directed the Jazz Ensemble, taught numerous general music classes, and assisted in the direction of the Concert Band, Marching Band, and Pep Bands.

Mr. Kite graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2001 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. He studied trombone at UK and his experience includes performing and recording with a variety of University of Kentucky musical ensembles. Mr. Kite has performed with various professional and community ensembles around the state of Kentucky including the DiMartino/Osland Jazz Orchestra, the Kentucky Jazz Repertory Orchestra, Lexington Jazz Men of Note, Bluegrass Area Jazz Ambassadors, Lexington Brass Band, and the Capital City Community Band. He is also active as an adjudicator serving in local and statewide auditions as well as a variety of Solo and Ensemble Festivals. Mr. Kite is a member of the Phi Beta Mu International Band Masters Fraternity, the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), and the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA). He served for two years as the KMEA All-State Jazz Coordinator. A native of Marshfield, Massachusetts, he lives with wife April, son Will, and daughter Ella in Lexington, Kentucky.

Jeffrey Bayerle
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF BANDS AT HENRY CLAY HIGH SCHOOL

Jeffrey A. Bayerle is currently in his fourth year as the Assistant Director of Bands at Henry Clay High School.  Mr. Bayerle’s duties include assisting in the direction of the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Lab Band, Percussion Ensembles,  Marching Band, and Pep Bands. Also, Mr. Bayerle currently serves as the assistant at Morton Middle School for the Advanced 6th grade band under the direction of Todd Chamberlain.  Mr. Bayerle is a graduate of Henry Clay High School (Class of 2001) and Morton Middle School.

Prior to his appointment to Henry Clay, Mr. Bayerle was the Director of Bands at Leestown Middle School.  While at Leestown, Mr. Bayerle was also the Band Director at Cardinal Valley Elementary and Linlee Elementary Schools.

Jeffrey Bayerle graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2006 with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. He studied saxophone under Miles and Lisa Osland and performed in Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Lab Band, Jazz Combos, Saxophone Quartets, Mega Sax Ensemble, Marching Band, and Pep Bands. During his senior year he was named the Senior Assistant for the University of Kentucky Bands and a Honor Bandsman. Mr. Bayerle also recieved his Master’s Degree from Morehead State University in Music Education. While at Morehead State University Mr. Bayerle studied conducting under Dr. Richard Miles

Mr. Bayerle is an active member of MENC and KMEA. Currently, he resides in Dry Ridge with his wife Sarah and their two dogs Sadie and Remi.

Justin Fisher
PERCUSSION SPECIALIST AT HENRY CLAY HIGH SCHOOL

Justin Fisher, Percussion Specialist at Henry Clay, has been teaching marching band, percussion ensemble, and steel band at HC since 2002. He is a 2001 graduate of Morehead State University where he was involved in the award winning percussion ensembles, indoor drumline, and MSU marching band. Justin is also a Percussion Specialist with the Tates Creek HS band program, where he is Caption Head of the Tates Creek Indoor Ensemble, an indoor marching percussion ensemble that has achieved WGI medalist status. Based out of Lexington, KY, Justin is an in-demand performer, clinician, consultant, and educator in all areas of percussion.

Barb Baker
COLOR GUARD SPECIALIST AT HENRY CLAY HIGH SCHOOL

Barbara Baker aka Babs, is a graduate from Morehead State University. She has been with Henry Clay since 2010. Her previous experience includes high school color guard from 2000-2004, southwind drum corps from 2005-2007, and Expressions winterguard in 2008.

 

Diana Cloyd

COLOR GUARD INSTRUCTOR AT HENRY CLAY HIGH SCHOOL

Diana Cloyd is 21 and a graduate from the Paul Mitchell school of Lexington. Her previous experience includes high school color guard at mercer country senior high school color guard for 5 years and p72 winter guard for 2 years.
