Dear Wind Ensemble Families, See link below for the final written portion of the Wind Ensemble Final Exam for review. I distributed this assignment in class last week and covered the details of what is expected. Each student should be preparing for the history portion of the written exam in advance of the final.
The written exam is 100 points (75% history, 25% theory) while the playing exam is 100 points for a total of 200 points and approximately 10% of the semester grade.
The Wind Ensemble Final Exam will be given from 1:18-3:15 PM on Thursday, December 15.
Thanks to all for a great semester! I look forward to seeing you at the concert next Monday! Sincerely, Bill KIte Director of Bands

Dear MB Family, Words cannot express how proud I am of our students and organization! What an amazing day on Saturday! This band has shown some of the strongest spirit and character I can remember in my time at Henry Clay and it has been an honor and privilege to work with each of you every day this season!
To recap, we finished the class 5A East Quarterfinal in 6th place with a distinguished rating of 85.35!! The music judges felt that this band was among the top of the class with 1 judge scoring us at 92 and a tenth of a point behind Lafayette HS! To reiterate the strength of the region, the 4th through 8th place bands were within 2 points of each other and there were 10 bands that scored distinguished ratings on Saturday!
The kids have worked incredibly hard and deserve this outstanding honor and dinstinction! They truly earned a place as a semifinalist and are on the edge of making school history in class 5A!
Now, as with any good celebration, there’s something more! Onto Semifinals…..
See link below for the Championship itinerary for your review. Please read ALL details carefully and understand that we will leave for the middle schools early on Friday and won’t return to HC until LATE Saturday (actually early on Sunday :-)
Our wonderful booster organization is providing the overwhelming majority of the financial support for our overnight trip! A HUGE THANKS to them! The students will only need money $$ for lunch at Fayette Mall on Friday and for dinner on Saturday (concessions at stadium).
We are on a regular rehearsal schedule this week! Let’s continue to improve!!! No stopping now!!

Dear Band Family, Please keep Lois Wiggins and her family in your thoughts and prayers again as her mother passed away Tuesday night. This is obviously a difficult time for their family having lost their father just a few weeks ago. (See Mr. Kite’s e-mail for address to send condolences. )
