Henry Clay High School Band

Good morning!  This afternoon I will take down the sign-up sheet for the summer sign-ups. I know the students have been focused on other things and few have signed up so from this point, please e-mail me to let me know when you are available for bingo this summer. Every Saturday is still available.

To incoming students and their parents, in a separate e-mail, I will give an explanation of our bingo fundraiser so you can understand what this is all about.

I hope to hear from you soon. As always, parents we would love to have you, too. The students do a great job but a few extra adults make things run more smoothly.

Dear band families,  As you know, bingo is a year-round fundraiser. Tomorrow, the sheet for summer sign-ups will be posted in the band room. This session covers June 2- Aug. 25. We are asking everyone to cover two shifts: the student can work twice or the student and a parent can work together on one night. In addition to the parents who regularly work as supervisors and assistants, we would like to have 3-4 extra parents each week working with the students. It really helps to have a few adults, so parents, if you are willing and able, we would love to have you.

Also, we need some more people for Sat., May 26. We’ve had several who have left the band program and will not be volunteering. If you are available that night, please let me know.

For those of you that might not know, Bingo is a year-round fundraiser. In order for us to have it in January, February and March, we also have to have it in June, July and August. We need your help to keep it strong. If you already know what week(s) your student would want to volunteer, you can send me those dates. (Parents, we would love for you to come as well.) We’ve lost our seniors and the incoming freshmen aren’t yet included so at this point, our numbers are down by a few. I’m looking for people to sign up to cover June 2-August 25. (The first day of school for students is Wednesday, Aug. 15.)

Dear Band Families,  Thank you to those who volunteered at Bingo on Friday night and those who filled in the holes we had. We consistently have students and parents who show up and work hard. Your dedication is appreciated by those who volunteer with you and especially by the parents who supervise and assist on Saturday nights. Thank you for understanding the importance of this fundraiser to our band program.

We need some parents on the 26th to help. In particular, we need a parent to assist behind the pulltab counter. You do not have to have prior experience; Joni will tell you what you need to know.

Band Parents,  WOW!!! What a great performance our students had on Saturday.  Their hard work and dedication really showed. We are very proud of them.

I can’t believe May is already here which means that this is the last month for our senior Bingo parents.  I want to thank those who have volunteered to help out but we still need at least 2 more.  Please let me know if you would be available to help on the 3rd week of each month.

With your help, we can continue our success with the Bingo fundraiser which provides many opportunities for our band students.
